Multi Diameter Pigging

Subsea Developments will support Clients in the development of specific pig solutions for pipeline systems with varying diameters.

An example of this was work performed by SDA in support to Saipem on the Bayu pipeline. This system has a 28" riser and a 26" 500km long pipeline and required to be dewatered from the small diameter through the larger diameter riser system which presented a significant challenge to ensure all water was removed in a dry gas pipeline prior to start up.

The work involved the development and supervision of pig trials, the assessment of wear predictions and the supervision of thae actual precommissioning operations.

Subsea Developments are working with a specialist company in the UK to develop specific programmes and software for the pig specification and pigging of unique pipeline systems.
